Dave Armstrong - Make Your Move
A classic from 2003 that never gets old.
“Make Your Move” is one of the defining tracks of 2000s French House, despite actually being made by a Canadian.
In 2003, after the founding of Eyezcream Recordings and its first release, “Release The Tension”, also by Dave Armstrong, he teamed up with the label’s owners Redroche to create a simple track sampling the chorus of “Dare Me” by The Pointer Sisters.
The track was an instant hit when it premiered at WMC in Miami that year, and it caught the attention of many DJs looking for new tracks to play. One of these DJs was Junior Jack, who later sampled the same track for his 2004 song “Stupidisco”. A coincidence? ;-)
It was licensed to Fine-Tune Records, and went on to earn Gold Record status in France.
“Make Your Move” has gone through various versions and remixes over the years. In 2011, Armstrong and Redroche reworked it and gave it a re-release on the original label Eyezcream, and Avicii later edited that version for his live sets.
A lot of DJs still play it today, and no matter which version they choose, it lives on.
