Filter Club is live

Filter Club is live.

The idea is simple. French house, funky house and disco house have never had one place to go. The news sits on one site, the release announcements on another, the production talk in a Discord somewhere, and the history in whatever forum thread has not been deleted yet. Filter Club is an attempt to put all of it in one place.

What is here

News and new music. Releases, labels and artists worth knowing about, with reviews and recommendations rather than a wall of everything that came out this week.

Production. Tutorials on how the records were actually made. The sampler chain behind the early filter sound and the Voyager bass are up already, and there will be one of these most weeks.

Throwback Thursday. One classic track a week, properly written up. Where it came from, what it sampled, and why it is still getting played. The first is Dave Armstrong's "Make Your Move".

Artists and labels. An archive of the people and imprints that built this sound, current and legacy, which will keep growing.

Song of the Week. One pick, every week.

Get involved

The Discord is where the day to day happens: track IDs, production chat, and whatever else comes up.

If you make this music, run a label, or are putting on a night, send it over. The address is on the about page.
