Hatiras - Spaced Invader Z (Antoine Clamaran Remix)

"Spaced Invader" started on International House Records in Chicago and got picked up by Defected, and it arrived with the remix package already stacked. Ian Pooley took it, Olav Basoski took it, Mr G and King Unique did theirs, Darren Emerson did an Underwater mix, and J Majik took it to drum and bass. The vocal is Slarta John, the same voice as Basement Jaxx's "Jump N Shout". Spacedisco's own promo says Pete Tong made it his Essential New Tune on Radio 1 twice.

Hatiras has gone back to it himself as "Spaced Invader Z", and this release is Antoine Clamaran's remix of that rework. So it is a remix of a rework of a record a quarter of a century old, which sounds like too many steps until you remember who is doing the remixing.

The remix runs 128 BPM and five and a half minutes, with a shorter edit alongside it on the same release, which tells you what it is built for. Most of that length is there so a DJ can get in and out of it.

Out now on Spacedisco Records, SDR545, two versions, both worth having depending on where you are putting it.
