Is Justice in GTA 6?

The new GTA 6 teasers have people convinced Justice are involved.

There has been a rumour going around since the recent GTA 6 teasers that Justice are involved with the game somehow. Maybe they've made music for it, maybe they're doing a radio station, maybe it's just one track. Nobody knows, and neither Rockstar nor Justice have said a word about it.

The reason people keep coming back to it is the music, which doesn't just sound vaguely French or vaguely 80s. The drums in one of the teasers sound an awful lot like "What You Want", big and compressed and very Justice.

On its own that isn't much, since Justice didn't invent compressed drums and GTA has always had a taste for big cinematic electronic music, but the comparisons have got a lot more specific than that.

The guitar

Someone in the Justice Discord pointed out that the guitars sound very close to DVNO's "Man on a Wire", produced by Xavier de Rosnay, and it isn't just that they've both got distorted guitars on them, it's the way the guitar is treated, all blown out and glossy round the note until it stops sounding like a guitar at all.

That's the bit that makes the theory feel less random, because Justice have spent years doing exactly that to rock instruments - you can hear it all over "Audio, Video, Disco." and it's still there on "Hyperdrama" - and the teaser has that same quality of something coming out bigger than it went in.

People on Reddit have taken it a lot further, lining up drum hits and comparing the guitar tone to "Audio, Video, Disco.", "Force Majeure" and the newer records. Some of that is people hearing what they want to hear, but there's enough in it that the rumour won't go away.

The fake list

One supposed GTA 6 tracklist did the rounds with "D.A.N.C.E." on it, which briefly made the whole thing seem more legit until it was confirmed as fake, so that's evidence of nothing at all.

They'd make sense though. Rockstar have always treated their radio stations as part of the game rather than background noise, GTA V had Soulwax FM, and a Justice station, or Justice production scattered through Vice City, would sit in that tradition perfectly.
